  • Clinical Gerontologist: journal of aging and mental health
    Call for Papers CLINICAL GERONTOLOGIST, now in its second decade, is for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other mental health professionals. What distinguishes CG from other journals in this field is a commitment to practitioner relevance. What topics are appropriate? anything dealing with mental health in later life: issues relating to the assessment of and intervention for depression, dementia, etc. We are especially interested in caregivers. What topics are NOT appropriate? poetic reflections on aging, theoretical digressions onto Erikson or Maslow. What is the maximum length? Full-length articles should reference previous publications in CG and usually run from ten to forty typewritten pages, double-spaced. CLINICAL COMMENTS are illustrative case studies under four pages.     Call for Papers Dreams as a Tool for assessment and intervention with the aged Clinical Gerontologist: the journal of aging and mental health is preparing a special issue on the use of dreams by mental health practitioners working with the aged. AUDIENCE: our inter-disciplinary readership is composed of psychologists, physicians, nurses, social workers and other counselors TYPES OF ARTICLES: case studies are preferred, because they offer the most opportunity to illustrate how to do an assessment or intervention; also quantitative studies dealing with treatment effectiveness or the psychometric properties of assessment tools with this population.
